A look into Star Wars: Padme's Dresses. Annex C

It's been a while, but I always come back to her in the end. Padmé Amidala, from the Star Wars Prequels, is a Style Icon and my personal standout from the mess that Episode I to III ended up being. Because of it, I've decided it was time to finish what I started so long ago and finally address Episode III . It took me long enough.  So let's dive back into it for one last chance to love, hate, snark and bark at the astonishing monstrosity that is Padmé's Wardrobe! A BRIEF REMINDER What are the Annexes? Well, the Annexes focus on all the costumes that were "left behind" in my selection of Padme Costumes for the A look into Star Wars: Padme's Dresses series. Here, I point out influences, likes, and dislikes, and anything that might feel relevant whilst digging into the gigantic wardrobe of this Galactic Queen. With this out of the way, let's go! ANNEX C: REVENGE OF THE SITH Episode III: Revenge of the Sith brings the prequel trilogy to a close and, ve...

The Results are in! And the winner is...

Good day, beautiful readers!! The votes are in. The poll has officially been closed. It has been quite a tight race, but we have a winner! Without further ado, with the 26,2% of the votes, my next article, as chosen by you, will be...  Padme's Annex covering the costumes for Revenge of The Sith ! With a bit of luck, next week it will be done and delivered into your anxious little hands. I'll try my best. As for those who voted for any other option, fret not, I will also get around writing them. I  can't really guarantee when, but I  will do it at some point. Thank you so much to all of you who've participated and shown so much interest, and also to all of you who follow, support and shower the blog with love. Thank you! I must say that some of you have really made me quite emotional with your responses letting me know for how long you've been reading this blog, and I'm so incredibly touched. To know that something that started as a hobby and that is basically a ...

Some Honest thoughts: Padmé Amidala's Costumes

As I suppose you are all aware, I've written extensively about the costumes for Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars Prequels in this blog. It seems only logical, this is, after all, a blog dedicated to Costume Design, and hers is pretty iconic and vast. You can find all my articles dedicated to her here . Unfortunately, it seems my thoughts and opinions on the matter have not been welcomed by some, as I've gotten a lot of messages violently asking me why I hate Padmé Amidala's costume design, and even, sometimes, going as far as to accuse me of hating the character itself. This has left me a bit worried, and I thought it was time for sharing some honest thoughts on the matter. EPISODE I: I'M NOT PARTICULARLY FOND OF THESE MOVIES I've certainly claimed this a lot. And it's true. It is a true statement not only for me but for a lot of people as well if the internet is to be believed. Still, somehow, some people have taken this claim to mean that as I do not like the mo...

A look into Star Wars: Padme's dresses. Part XII

As I explained in my last Padme-related article, most of her designs in Revenge of the Sith are actually very similar. That was the basic problem when it came to deciding what was going to be the next costume I reviewed. In the end, I opted for the "Delegation gown" because it was the one that offered me the best chance of not repeating myself. This costume was designed for a scene that ended up being cut from the movie (a Delegation meeting in her apartment) and was later repurposed for the scene when Obi-Wan goes to tell her that Anakin has turned to the dark side. This results in the dress being very little on-screen, but that's nothing new to her character. This outfit consists of a long, green, velvet gown, conical in shape, which helps disguise her pregnancy. The gown has a V-neck that's accented with a jeweled pendant with dangling beads. It also has long, loose sleeves. The whole gown is decorated with intricate motifs. The gown also has a hood, w...
